But they're not our words: for three separate years, our customers have named Action Retailer of the Year in Europe and we've been named Best Chain Store in the Netherlands five times. At Action, we try to live up to our name. We're incredibly ambitious, have boundless energy and we get things done. For example, in 2023 we opened 303 Stores in 11 different countries. We also renovated 51 Stores and built two completely new distribution centres. At the same time, we also created more than 8,000 new jobs and let hundreds of our colleagues take new steps forwards. At Action, we don't only invest in new stores. At the Action Academy, we offer you the opportunity to take courses tailored to your job. The range is huge, from courses on safety at work to complete management training. Last year, more than 40% of our courses were targeted at developing our employees’ soft skills. This strikes us as sensible: when you get better at the work you do, we get better too.
