About Action
Who or what is Action?
Action is a Dutch non-food discounter known for its affordable everyday products. We have grown enormously in recent years. In 1993, we opened our first store in Enkhuizen and now have more than 2,650 stores spread across Europe! This growth would have been impossible without our fantastic colleagues, who now number 72,000.
What sort of working atmosphere should I expect at Action?
We like to describe the working atmosphere at Action as ‘no nonsense ’. In our stores, distribution centres and offices, we adhere to a number of important values, including teamwork, discipline, simplicity and respect. This means both respect towards our customers, and towards our colleagues. In this way, we jointly create a working atmosphere in which everyone feels safe, comfortable and heard.

How old do I have to be to work in an Action store?
Once you are at least 15, you can become a shelf-filler, and from the age of 16, you can also work as a store assistant at Action. During the daytime outside of school hours and during the holidays, you can carry out light duties. Once you are older than 16, you can also carry out heavier duties and work more hours, evenings included.
Help! I'm having trouble uploading my CV. What file type should I use?
To send us your CV, you should upload a txt, doc, docx or pdf file. These are the only file types supported by our website.
Until when can you respond to a vacancy?
You can apply for as long as the vacancy is up on our website. We will only take the vacancy offline once we have found the right person.
Can I respond to a vacancy if I do not meet the criteria?
Naturally, we prefer candidates who meet the stated vacancy requirements as closely as possible. If you have not fully mastered the required knowledge yet, you can nevertheless always try your luck at applying. Nothing ventured, nothing gained! Would you prefer to wait for a vacancy that matches your skills and preferences? Then sign up for job alert.
How does job alert work?
If you can't find a suitable vacancy, you can sign up for job alert. You will then fill in your basic details and preferences so that we can send you a message as soon as we have a suitable vacancy for you.
Can I apply for multiple positions at the same time?
Have you found more than one vacancy you want to apply for? Great! Of course, you can respond to multiple job offers at the same time.
How do I know if my application has been properly received?
Once you've applied, we'll send you a confirmation email. Not got an email from us? Please contact us.
What is my application status and how long until I hear back from you?
Once you've applied via our website and received our confirmation email, we will contact you within two weeks.
What do you do with my personal data after I've applied?
After completing your application, we'll keep your personal data for four weeks, unless you have authorised us in your application form to keep your data for one year. For more information on this topic, please refer to our privacy statement.
I would like to reschedule or cancel my interview. How can I best do this?
If you are unable to attend the interview on the agreed date or decide not to attend it at all, please contact the person with whom you have scheduled the interview directly. Have you applied for an in-store position? Then you can also stop by the store instead.
