Privacy statement

This Privacy Statement provides information about the data we process from the ‘werkbijaction’ website visitors (www.action.jobs).

Action Service & Distributie B.V. (head office and distribution centres) and Action Nederland B.V. (stores) are responsible for processing personal data as described in this Privacy Statement.

Action respects your privacy. We handle the information you share with us with care and process it in accordance with the applicable law.

What data do we process and why?

Applications
If you apply for a specific vacancy, we will ask you for various details we need for the application process, such as, for example, your first name, last name, postcode, email address and telephone number. We may ask you for a motivation letter, so that we know why you want to apply, and a CV, so we know your background (education and/or work experience). We do not require a motivation letter for all positions.

If you apply via WhatsApp, we want to receive the following information from you: telephone number and the nature of the conversation you are having with us (first name, postcode, number of hours available per week and age). We won't be able to see your profile photo and we won't save it. No cookies or similar technologies will be placed on your (mobile) device when you apply via WhatsApp. Action is not responsible for the data processed by WhatsApp itself. We therefore advise you to also read WhatsApp's privacy statement: WhatsApp's privacy statement. Furthermore, the general terms and conditions of WhatsApp Inc. apply to the use of WhatsApp.

We may also receive your application details if you apply via a job board. We recommend that you also consult the privacy statement of these job board websites.

Additionally, we can also store information obtained from referees. As part of your application for a job at one of our stores, we may consult the FAD Foundation's Warning Register (Fraud Approach to Retail).

For some positions, we will also ask a number of questions, to get a good idea of your experience, wishes and availability.

We need the above information to follow up on your application and properly assess whether you are the right candidate for the job. It is not mandatory to supply your data. If you decide not to provide us with this information, we will not be able to process your application.

Job alert

If you want us to update you with our latest vacancies, you can set up our job alert. To fulfil this request, we will store your email address. In order to be able to send you relevant vacancies, we need to ask you the area in which you want to work, what you would like to do and your distance to the work location. We will process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give us.

We will keep your job alert profile as long as you want to continue to receive Action vacancies. Every time we send you a job alert, we will give you the option to unsubscribe.

Taking an assessment
For some positions, we will ask you to take an assessment to establish whether you are the right candidate for the job. The results of this assessment will used for your personal development plan when you join Action.
